Your Donation Can Save Lives
Many of the horses in our program are adopted with no fee or with waived adoption fees, ensuring they can find loving homes without financial obstacles. While adoption fees are not required for those horses, donations from adopters at the time of adoption are deeply appreciated. As we operate 100% on donations, your generosity helps us continue to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome more horses in need.

REHABILITATION
CACE
Age: 20 Years Old
Height: 15.2hh approx.
Suitability: TBD
Cace joined our foster care program in February after a challenging journey. Originally rescued last fall, he was abandoned by the individual who took him in. A kind samaritan cared for him, but financial constraints led them to ask us for help.
Cace had a recent vet appointment, and while he is between 18-22 years old, the vet believes he is most likely around 19-20. His heart and lungs are healthy, and his teeth are in decent shape for his age. However, he has a small secondary infection on his back, likely from a poor-fitting blanket, and is being treated with regular brushing and bathing. He was vaccinated at the same time. The vet suspects an old stifle injury and arthritis in his hind legs, recommending Previcox daily and Bute on farrier days for pain management.
Cace is currently around 850-900 lbs, though he should weigh closer to 1000-1100 lbs. To help him gain weight, he’s being fed 6 lbs twice a day with added Canola oil. His weight and overall progress will be rechecked in a month. At this stage, he is too weak to assess whether he can be ridden, but once he gains muscle and weight, we’ll be able to evaluate his potential for light riding.
Cace is not available for adoption yet, but we’re committed to his rehabilitation and will continue to provide updates on his progress. Thank you for your support in helping him recover!
